It is certainly not the prettiest win you will ever see, but it is a win nonetheless. The Pittsburgh Steelers managed to beat the Browns 10-6 on Sunday Night Football. The winds were heavy and rain was coming down, but that did not stop the Steelers from recording their second victory of the season.
The key to the Steelers’ success Sunday night was turnovers. Browns quarterback, Derek Anderson, was intercepted twice by the Steelers defense, once by Bryant McFadden and once by Troy Polamalu. The Pittsburgh offense did their part by not turning the ball over once. Willie Parker had another great game as he rushed for over 100 yards, and finished with 105 yards for the night.
Ben Roethlisberger had a very solid performance for the second straight week. Even with a sore shoulder, Roethlisberger went 12-19 for 186 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown pass to Hines Ward. Ben was sacked three times in the game, but for the most part, the offensive line did an excellent job of protecting Roethlisberger, as he had plenty of time to throw down-field on numerous occasions.
The Steelers will now get set to face the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday in Philadelphia. With the Steelers’ powerful defense and Philadelphia’s high powered offense, it will be interesting to see which team will come out of this game with a victory.
